'Let there be love' - Do something different this Valentine's Day

Whether you’re single, engaged, on a first date, a spinster, or married for over 40 years, Cork Opera House have put together something a little unconventional for you this Valentine’s Day, Tuesday 14th February.

Let There Be Love is a carnival of events including the greatest love song anthems, tango, the most popular love scenes from your favourite films, blind date, speed dating, orchestras, choirs, dance and live proposals!

We need the people of Cork to get involved, from Feb 02 we will have a ‘truth booth’ in our foyer where you can record messages for your loved ones, some of which will be broadcast live onstage during the event. We are looking for messages of love whether they are declarations of romantic or platonic love or even a message to embarrass someone on the night! Just drop by, pick up your tickets for the night and make sure to record your message!

Cork Opera House are also seeking someone ready to pop that all important question! One very lucky person will be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask their loved one’s hand in marriage live on the Opera House stage as part of the night’s programme! Ladies, don’t forget it’s a leap year- so maybe it’s your turn to take that all important leap too! You’ll have complete input into how it happens so for something completely memorable, get in touch! With a huge variety of acts of both local and national acclaim including the comedy duo, Trevor Ryan and Declan Wolfe, the West Cork Ukulele Orchestra, The Roaring Forties, acclaimed soprano Linda Kenny, and many many more guests, the stage will be ablaze with romance, hilarity and song! There’ll be speed dating at the interval and a disco in the bar afterwards to get everyone grooving for Valentine’s Day whether in a couple or a top class single! Let There Be Love is the perfect alternative this Valentine’s Day so bring a loved one along, or simply drag some mates to a Valentine’s gig with a difference!
