Cork Comedy Festival 2017

Following the success of last year’s inaugural festival, the second installment of Cork Comedy Fest is back with a bang with some 25 gigs scheduled in six venues across Cork city. Here at Cork Opera House, we are delighted to be hosting seven gigs including two children’s shows.

A host of comedy stars will appear in the Rebel City, from September 21st to 24th. Have you taken your pick yet? PJ Gallagher, Neil Delamere, Bernard O’Shea, Deirdre O’Kane, Kevin McAleer, Lords of Strut, Chris Kent, Colin Murphy, Colm O’Regan, Apres Match’s Barry Murphy, Alison Spittle, Karl Spain, Joanne McNally and many more are all set to take to Cork by storm.

Don’t leave the smallies out of the fun. Tickets are already flying for two world-class shows aimed at the young ‘uns but with plenty of laughs for grown ups too. Check out Britain’s Got Talent finalists Lords of Strut who bring their awe-inspiring physical feats to new kids show Absolute Legends to Cork Opera House. And award-winning Aussie Bec Hill and kids comedy supremo Tiernan Douieb deliver top class stand-up minus the rude bits to the next generation in Monster LOLs.  Ages 6+. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Check out the cracker we have lined up for you here at Cork Opera House in what promises to be the biggest laugh-fest of the year!

SUNDAY

Comedy for Kids – Monster LOLs with Bec Hill & Tiernan Douieb

Comedy for Kids – Lords of Strut

All their lives they wanted to be famous. To get there they need to make the perfect dance routine and they need your help. In this dance fantasy adventure brothers Sean and Seamus rock out some banging moves, run into trouble, have a few tantrums, cause a teensy bit of mayhem and find out if fame is really what they’re looking for after all. Street Performance World Champions, unlikely heroes of Dublin Fringe smash hit RIOT and Britain’s Got Talent favourites, LORDS OF STRUT deliver their most ridiculous and sublime family show to date. Riproaringly funny, fantastically bizarre and Absolute Legends!

Age 6+.
Contains use of strobe lighting and smoke machines.

MC Andrew Stanley, with Bec Hill, Chris Kent, Ian Coppinger and Kevin McAleer

8pm, Main Auditorium

Andrew Stanley (RTE’s I Dare Ya) steps up to the mic with a beaut of a line up including Corkonian Chris Kent; cult Aussie delight Bec Hill; improv archmaester Ian Coppinger; and the singular Kevin McAleer a.k.a Tyrone’s leading Zen Buddhist saint. An embarrassment of comedy riches.
