Cork Opera House will host a traditional Irish Music workshop for children aged 10 - 16 with Aoife Blake and Pax Ó Faoláin as part of Cruinniu na nÓg on Saturday June 15th 2019.
Aoife Blake is a harpist, vocalist, fiddle player and teacher based in Cork, since first coming down to study Music and Gaeilge at UCC in 2011. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Performance (Traditional Music) on Irish Harp at CIT Cork School of Music, under the tutelage of Johnny McCarthy, Cormac McCarthy and Anne-Marie Papin.
Pax Ó Faoláin is a 4th Year BMus student studying at the CIT Cork School of Music. Pax specialised in Performance during his degree and has a passion for other areas of music such as music education and music therapy.
Cruinniú na nÓg celebrates and encourages children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity through performance, coding, theatre, art and music workshops, readings, screenings, special events and much more. Events are free, local and activity-based. It’s a day for ‘doing’, ‘making’ and ‘creating’!
