Coming to Cork Opera House for a special St Patrick's night concert, Neil Diamond - A Celebration features Gary Ryan (Stars in Their Eyes) as he delivers a tour de force recreating the life and music of the legend that is Neil Diamond.
Accompanied by his five-piece band, Gary passionately immerses himself in Neil Diamond's huge repertoire to deliver a two-hour, high-octane show of unforgettable classics including 'Cracklin’ Rosie', 'Song Song Blue', 'Sweet Caroline', 'Forever in Blue Jeans', 'Love on the Rocks’, ‘America’, ‘Hello Again’, ‘I Am I Said’ and many others.
During a glittering career, Neil Diamond charted 38 songs in the Top 10 on the US Billboard charts and sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. In 2018, in recognition to his contribution to music spanning several decades, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
A huge Diamond fan, Gary Ryan has been performing on stage from the tender age of fourteen, the same age he purchased and taught himself to play his first guitar. He went on to make regular stage appearances solo and with various bands.
In the mid 90′s, Gary applied for and gained a place on the popular TV series 'Stars in Their Eyes' as Neil Diamond. He won his heat and went on to finish runner-up in the first ever live grand final of that TV series. After 'Stars in Their Eyes', Gary has worked on various musical productions and continues to this day portraying his favourite singer songwriter all over the world.
