Opera Concert Series - The Pirates of Penzance

As part of the 2019 Opera Concert Series, Cork Opera House presents a concert performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s timless operetta
The Pirates of Penzance
Sunday 2 June 2019

€30 & €35*

Following on from the success of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado in September 2018, Cork Opera House presents a concert performance of The Pirates of Penzance, the second in our 2019 Opera Concert Series. A swashbuckling farce of brilliant humour and razor-sharp wit, Gilbert and Sullivan’s timeless operetta is full to the brim with memorable melodies including the famous Major General’s tongue-twisting patter song, the cowardly Police Sergeant’s When a felon’s not engaged in his employment and of course Mabel’s dazzling Poor Wandering One.

Each of the concerts in the 2019 series will once again feature our very own Cork Opera House Concert Orchestra led by acclaimed conductor John O’Brien, a chorus from Cork Operatic Society, and internationally celebrated soloists.
