Sixties legends The Manfreds come to Cork Opera House this Autumn!
Manfred Mann, who formed in 1962, were one of the biggest pop acts of the sixties and one of the first UK bands to score a US Number One, in what became known as “The British Invasion”. Their fantastic R&B and jazz influenced pop songs were hits around the world and included ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, ‘Pretty Flamingo’, ‘The Mighty Quinn’, ‘5-4-3-2-1’ (the theme from legendary TV show Ready Steady Go!) and ‘Ha Ha Said The Clown’.
This Greatest Hits Tour also includes Top 10 solo hits by Paul Jones (‘High Time’ and ‘Bad Bad Boy’) and McGuinness Flint (‘When I’m Dead And Gone’ and ‘Malt And Barley Blues’) plus ‘Handbags And Glad Rags’, a classic solo single by Mike D’Abo (who joined Manfred Mann in 1966, replacing Paul Jones as vocalist).
Since The Manfreds re-formed in 1991, they have been in constant demand throughout the world. Original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones, Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness, are now joined by Rob Townsend, Marcus Cliffe and Simon Currie as the exciting new line-up of The Manfreds.
