Blindboy’s increased notability away from his band Rubberbandits, has allowed for him to explore wider avenues and create perhaps outrageously mind-altering brainchildren which can only be described as courageous, yet bonkers.
With a number one selling book under his belt and a podcast that has reached interest not only in Ireland but internationally, the satirist could possibly single-handedly change people’s mind set on mental health and the deafening stigma it surrounds.
The Blindboy podcast has now exceeded 40 million listeners and is global . His recent UK tour Sold out & he was nominated for four awards at the Irish podcast awards .
Outspoken, informed and empathetic, Blindboy engages his audience with an unusual touch of realism. There is a very authentic feeling of “freedom” Mr Boatclub exudes which allows his listeners and participants to openly speak their mind without judgement and no topic off limits – certainly, an air of belonging encircling the space you find yourself in when listening or in company of Blindly.
His latest innovative creation, The Blindboy Podcast does not only indoctrinates mental health issues but reaches further into a wide spectrum of current topics, may it be gun laws, feminism, racism or a bit of history. Blindboy has it covered.
Young Hot Guys is the podcast you most desire. It is hot enough to melt your eardrums and so young that its generation hasn’t even been named yet. Shane Daniel Byrne, Tony Cantwell and Killian Sundermann are Young Hot Guys. Three of the most exciting comedians in Ireland at the moment who blend surreal humour with keen observations. Each is known for viral online sketches and stand-up performances, they are masters of absurdity, quick wit and most importantly their collective abundance of charm!
Comedians Cornelius O’Sulivan and Chris Kent come together for a live show where they discuss everything that matters to them and some things that don’t matter at all; Fatherhood,, Comedy, Marriage, Conspiracy Theories, GAA, Metalism, Weed, Psychedelics, Kids, Spirituality, Love, Sadness.
Cornelius is a middle-aged analogue man in a metaverse of confusion. A comedian, improviser, writer, podcaster and actor Cornelius has performed all over and has played at festivals the ilk of Edinburgh Fringe and Kilkenny Cat Laughs. Television credits that include Republic of Tele and RTÉ 2 Sketch show called ‘Sketch’, Cornelius is absolutely perplexed as to why Stephen Spielberg hasn’t rang his landline to offer him a big movie role. ‘Any day now’ he can often be heard muttering to himself. Recently Cornelius has garnered attention for his GAA based sketch videos, raking up tens of thousands of views online!
Hailing from ‘The Rebel County’ (That’s Cork for anyone outside Ireland), Chris Kent gave up the day job as an electrician to pursue his calling in comedy. He emerged onto the Irish comedy scene in 2009 after winning the Bulmers Nuttin’ But Funny competition. By 2010, he rocked Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens and claimed the Comedy Smack Down at Galway’s festival. Opening for icons like Dylan Moran, he gained traction, marked as “One To Watch” by The Dubliner. Despite a humorous bout with mumps in Edinburgh, Chris flourished, joining RTE Radio 1’s The Second Republic. His routines grew, from 2013’s ‘Second Fix’ to 2020’s ‘Christy Doesn’t Live Here’.
